Hundreds of pupils from Pinxton Village Academies came together for a vibrant Colour Dash event in support of the charity Lifting Children’s Hopes, raising more than £4,000 so far.
The event brought together 453 children and staff from Kirkstead Junior Academy, Longwood Infant Academy and John King Infant Academy - collectively known as Pinxton Village Academies and part of the Flying High Partnership - on the playing field at Kirkstead Junior Academy. Dressed for fun and covered in colour, pupils completed a lively run while raising funds to support children and young people across the East Midlands.
Headteacher Praises Community Effort
Headteacher Anne Ingle said the event was a huge success: “We are delighted to be able to support the Lifting Children’s Hopes Charity with such a colourful event for our children. Our Colour Dash was a wonderful way for our academies to give back to a charity that does so much to support young people.” She added that the wider school community played a key role in the success of the fundraiser, thanking families and supporters for their generosity.
Pupils Share Their Excitement
Pupils also shared their excitement, with Year 6 student Roman saying: “We have been running around the school field and getting covered in colours… we are happy to be doing it because we are helping other people.” Another pupil, Scarlett, said: “I have really enjoyed it… it’s a really good thing to raise money to help people who need it. Everyone has had a good time.”
