Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) following a fight outside a pub in Eastwood, near Nottingham, which occurred after a day of very warm weather during the bank holiday weekend.
Incident Details
Officers were called to The Lady Chatterley pub around 11:40 pm on Saturday night following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with severe facial injuries. Within minutes, a suspect was located nearby and found to be in possession of cocaine.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a class A drug. A 19-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Both are being questioned by detectives.
Police Appeal
Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham of Nottinghamshire Police stated: 'Within minutes of responding to this report, we discovered a man with a nasty facial injury and arrested a suspect nearby. Due to this incident taking place at the location and time it did – on a busy Saturday night – we believe there will have been people who witnessed it.'
Police are appealing for anyone who was in or around the pub at the time and witnessed the incident to come forward.
