Nationwide: Four Groups Excluded from £100 Bonus Payment Tomorrow
Nationwide: Four Groups Excluded from £100 Bonus

Nationwide has confirmed that four specific groups of customers will not receive the £100 Fairer Share bonus payment scheduled for tomorrow. The building society is distributing the annual bonus to eligible members between June 10 and June 30, 2026, but not everyone qualifies.

Qualifying Current Account Required

To receive the payment, customers must have an open Nationwide current account that meets eligibility criteria. The account must have been open on March 31, 2026, and satisfy any additional requirements based on the account type. Accounts held with Clydesdale, including Virgin Money current accounts, do not qualify.

Alternative Qualifying Products

Customers without a qualifying current account may still be eligible if they hold a qualifying savings account with at least £100 in total across personal savings or cash ISAs on any day in March 2026. Alternatively, a qualifying residential mortgage with a minimum outstanding balance of £100 as of March 31, 2026, can also make customers eligible.

Virgin Money Customers Exempt This Year

Virgin Money customers who joined Nationwide through the transfer will not receive the payment this year. Nationwide stated that they may qualify for a Fairer Share payment in 2027, which will include qualifying Virgin Money accounts. The society aims to make the payment annually but notes that financial performance will determine future distributions.

Nationwide Chair Kevin Parry commented on the CEO's pay package, highlighting the society's strong performance and increased member value. The £100 bonus will benefit over 4 million eligible members, alongside the Member Exclusive Bond offering competitive fixed savings rates.
