Caerphilly Council's Procurement Team Wins Triple Crown at GO Awards
Caerphilly Council procurement team wins three major awards

In an extraordinary sweep at the prestigious GO Excellence in Public Procurement Awards, the procurement team from Caerphilly County Borough Council celebrated a remarkable triple victory, securing top honours for their groundbreaking work.

A Triumphant Night for Public Procurement

The team's winning streak began with the Procurement Transformation Through Technology Award, sponsored by Fortinet. This accolade was awarded for their development of an innovative Live Supplier Directory, a digital platform designed to streamline connections between local businesses and public sector contracting opportunities.

The project, which was funded internally by SPF funding, was completed through a partnership with the local supplier, Simply Do. This tool is set to significantly improve how local enterprises access and compete for public contracts.

Celebrating Collaboration and Overall Excellence

The council's success continued as they received the Collaborative Procurement Initiative Award, sponsored by Ffrâm24. This award specifically recognised the impactful work of the Welsh public sector collaboration food group, highlighting Caerphilly CBC's dedication to partnership and sharing best practices across the sector.

To cap off an already incredible evening, the council was honoured with the top prize: the overall GO Excellence Award Winner. This supreme award was granted for the same Innovative Live Supplier Directory, cementing its status as a benchmark for excellence in public procurement.

Leadership Praise for an Outstanding Achievement

Councillor Jamie Pritchard, deputy leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, expressed immense pride in the team's accomplishments. He stated, "We are incredibly proud of our procurement team and the amazing work they do to deliver innovation, value and real benefits for our communities."

He went on to add, "Winning three awards in one night is an outstanding achievement and a testament to their hard work, creativity and commitment to making the council a leader in public procurement. Huge congratulations to everyone involved!"

This triple win not only brings prestige to the borough but also showcases a powerful model of how technology and collaboration can revolutionise public service delivery for the benefit of local communities and businesses alike.
