Owner Steve attributes the business's longevity to its devoted clientele, stating, "The customers - I have fantastic, loyal customers." Originally owned by Tommy Lewis, the shop employed three staff members: Don Quittington, Al Frost, and Steve's father, Frank. Frank later became a partner and eventually purchased the business, with Steve's uncle Sid also contributing to its early foundations.
Steve has worked in the shop for an impressive 52 years, starting at just 15 years old. His brother, Mark Lavender, played a significant role as well, working alongside him for over 40 years. This family dedication has been central to the shop's enduring success and stellar reputation.
