The Glasshouse International Centre for Music Names New Chief Executive
Fraser Anderson has been appointed as the new chief executive of The Glasshouse International Centre for Music with immediate effect. This decision follows what the venue described as a highly competitive recruitment process. Anderson had been serving as interim chief executive for the past six months, stepping in after Abigail Pogson's departure to the Barbican Centre in London.
With more than six years of experience within the organization, Anderson has played a central role in shaping The Glasshouse's strategic direction, strengthening its programs, and expanding its impact with audiences and communities throughout the North East region.
"It's a privilege to be appointed chief executive of The Glasshouse," Anderson said. "This is an organization with a rare sense of shared purpose – artists, audiences and our brilliant team have created a place for music that combines creative excellence with a strong sense of community and belonging."
He added: "We've built momentum in recent years but there's much more to come. We are already making next-phase plans to work with artists on live events, festivals and residencies. A growing Music Academy is expanding what we can offer young people, emerging artists and aspiring music professionals. And our commitment to making what we do available to as many different people as possible is unwavering."

Muckle LLP Expands Real Estate Dispute Resolution Team
Law firm Muckle LLP has strengthened its real estate dispute resolution offering with the appointment of solicitor Liam Musgrave. Musgrave studied undergraduate law at Leeds Beckett University and then completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) during the pandemic.
After completing his LPC, Musgrave returned to his native North East and began his legal career working as a paralegal in the commercial property team at a regional law firm before starting his training contract, gaining experience in both commercial property and litigation. He qualified as a solicitor in 2024.
"I was ready for a new challenge, so when the opportunity came to work at Muckle, I just had to take it," Musgrave said. "Muckle's reputation is fantastic – not only for its work and clients but for its commitment to its people. True North Construction Welcomes Three New Apprentices
Three apprentices have begun their careers at Newcastle contractor True North Construction. David Lancaster, 19, and Jay Burdis, 19, both from Newcastle, have joined the company while studying at Northumberland College and Tyne Metropolitan College, respectively, with both courses set to finish in July 2027.
They join fellow apprentice Georgia Clayton, 18, from Throckley, who recently began studying at Newcastle College. The trio has secured Level 2 carpentry and joinery apprenticeships.
All three apprentices are working toward their qualifications, combining four days a week of practical experience on site with True North Construction with one day of theory-based learning at their respective colleges. The program is designed to give apprentices hands-on experience across a wide range of projects from high-end residential developments to commercial fit-outs, helping them build a broad skillset for future careers in construction.
Tayler Mitchell, operations director at True North Construction, commented: "Investing in apprenticeships is an important part of how we grow our business while supporting the future of the construction industry. David, Jay and Georgia are all enthusiastic and eager to learn and apprenticeships give them the opportunity to develop practical skills while working on real projects."
