A major North East wellness brand is set to create around 50 new jobs as part of a significant multimillion-pound expansion programme in the coming year.
Multi-Site Rollout Across the Region
County Durham-based company Glow has confirmed plans to open at least five new locations in 2026, a move that will more than treble its current workforce of 20 people. The expansion represents a rapid growth phase for the business, which was only founded in 2024 by entrepreneurs Steven Curran, Terry Haley, and Mitchell Anderson.
The first new site is scheduled to launch in January 2026 on Plummer Street, close to Newcastle city centre. This will be followed by a fourth studio opening at Thinford Park in Durham during the summer. The company has also confirmed three additional wellness stores are planned for later in the year, with specific locations to be announced in the coming months.
Building on a Loyal Customer Base
Glow, which first opened in Framwellgate, Durham, and currently operates studios in Durham and Spennymoor, specialises in sunbeds, beauty rooms, and wellness services. The brand has cultivated a strong reputation by focusing on cleanliness, comfort, and consistency in its operations.
Co-founder Mitchell Anderson stated the business has built a loyal following through disciplined operating standards and investing in well-trained local teams. This approach has even attracted celebrity attention, with reality TV star and influencer Charlotte Crosby being a noted regular customer at existing stores.
A Long-Term Commitment to the North East
Mr Anderson described the Newcastle opening as a significant milestone for Glow, with the confirmed Thinford Park site and further planned openings reinforcing the company's long-term commitment to the region as both a major employer and investor.
"This next phase is about building something long term and high quality," Anderson explained. "The investment we are making in 2026 is focused on the right locations, the right people and maintaining standards as we grow."
He emphasised a cautious approach to growth, noting: "We opened our first stores, listened carefully to customers and refined how we operate before committing to further expansion. That discipline gives us confidence, and we are now actively seeking additional locations across the region."
The 50 new roles will span a variety of positions, including customer-facing staff, management, and operational support functions. Further announcements regarding exact locations and recruitment drives are expected over the next few months as the expansion plans progress.
