Aldi Announces Major Recruitment Drive for West Midlands with High-Paying Roles
The discount supermarket giant Aldi has launched a significant hiring campaign, seeking 95 new staff members to join its branches across the West Midlands, including key locations in Birmingham. Applications are open immediately for a range of positions, with annual salaries reaching up to £69,000 for top-tier roles.
Diverse Job Opportunities and Competitive Pay Rates
Aldi is advertising both full-time and part-time vacancies, including store assistants, cleaners, and store managers. From April 1, 2026, store assistants will earn £13.50 per hour nationally and £14.88 within the M25 area, with rates increasing to £14.47 and £15.20 respectively based on length of service. This pay structure is part of a £42 million investment in colleague pay for 2026, which Aldi claims exceeds the rates offered by all other supermarkets in the industry.
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, emphasized the company's commitment to career development, stating: "We want to encourage more people across the UK to consider a career in retail - starting with high-quality training and development that gives people the skills and confidence to succeed. As we open more stores, we're creating further opportunities for people to start to build rewarding careers with Aldi."
Locations and Benefits for New Hires
Branches in Coventry, Dudley, and Stechford are actively hiring and looking for new talent. Aldi offers additional benefits such as paid breaks for all staff, clear progression routes, and ongoing support to help employees grow in the retail sector. Stokes added: "With market-leading pay, clear progression routes and ongoing support, we're helping more people grow in retail while bringing Aldi's award-winning, affordable products to more local communities."
This recruitment drive aligns with Aldi's expansion plans and its goal to provide affordable products to more communities. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply now to take advantage of these opportunities in the thriving West Midlands job market.
