MAFS Australia's Bec Zaharia Reveals She's Now 'Unemployable' After Losing Job Over TV Outburst
Married At First Sight Australia's Bec Zaharia has spoken out about the brutal consequences of her explosive behavior on the show, revealing she was fired from her job and is now struggling to pay rent. The fallout from the third Dinner Party episode proved devastating for the bride, who opened up about her current unemployment and financial woes in a recent podcast appearance.
Dinner Party Outburst Leads to Immediate Job Loss
The catalyst for Bec's troubles began during the third Dinner Party when she took aim at almost everyone at the table after claims surfaced that her husband Danny Hewitt said fellow contestant Gia Fleur was more his type. The evening spiraled out of control as she questioned and attacked multiple couples, leaving experts and fellow contestants speechless.
Bec explained on the 'MAFS Funny' podcast: "I mean, it's hard. Like I need a job you know - like I need to work. But right now my face is everywhere and it's negative." She shared her desperation, adding: "Like I'll f------ stack shelves if I have to."
From Sales Manager to 'Unemployable' Status
Before joining the MAFS experiment, Bec had started a new sales job at a manufacturing company in Adelaide. The company reportedly told her it would be best to return after the show aired, but she allegedly declined because she needed "to pay her rent and mortgages." Ultimately, they agreed to keep her on with the condition that she would no longer do any publicity to promote the show.
However, when the third Dinner Party aired, "everything changed after that," and she was fired the next morning. Although Bec agreed her behavior had been poor, she was still "gobsmacked" by the decision, as she had reportedly warned the company about what would air prior to that meeting.
Financial Struggles and Public Image Concerns
The MAFS bride explained how losing her job has taken a major toll on her personal life. She said: "I'm now unemployable, I'm renting now - my house is rented out. And I am worried about where my next rent payment is going to come from, [that's] where I'm at."
In a TikTok live session, Bec revealed that her main job role involved managing people in key accounts, which often required taking clients out for dinners or lunches. She acknowledged this would now be "pretty difficult" to continue doing since she's in a public-facing position and has been seen "flying off the handles" on national television.
The reality TV star's situation highlights the real-world consequences that can follow controversial behavior on highly publicized television programs, with employment prospects and financial stability hanging in the balance long after the cameras stop rolling.
