A much-loved family attraction in the West Midlands has temporarily shut its gates to embark on a significant upgrade, with regular visitors expressing their excitement for the changes. Attwell Farm Park, located near Redditch and roughly 50 minutes from Birmingham city centre, is closed for over a week to begin the first phase of expanding its indoor play barn.
What's Changing at the Popular Farm Park?
The planned closure, which lasts for 11 days, will see a transformation of the indoor facilities. Work is focused on creating more seating areas, new play spaces for children, and improved accessible facilities. The project also aims to increase the food and drink options available to guests.
In a statement on the park's Facebook page, bosses explained the motivation behind the investment. The expansion is "all about making Attwell Farm Park even more fun, comfortable and enjoyable for everyone." They also hinted that this work lays the foundations for "very exciting future projects" planned for 2026 and beyond.
The attraction is scheduled to reopen to the public on Saturday, January 17, assuming the refurbishment goes according to plan.
Visitors React with Enthusiasm
The announcement of the refurbishment was met with a wave of positive feedback from the farm park's community of visitors. Many took to social media to share their anticipation for the new look.
One supporter commented on the exciting news, while politely hoping for a coffee upgrade for thirsty grandparents. Another simply posted, "Fab! Can’t wait to come back and see it!!!"
A longer reflection from a visitor noted the park's impressive growth from its early days as an open farm, praising the evident drive and passion of the team behind it.
More Than Just a Play Barn
While the indoor play barn is a key focus, Attwell Farm Park is renowned for its wide variety of animals. The site is home to alpacas, horses, pigs, cows, goats, reindeer, chickens, and rabbits, many of which visitors can interact with through stroking or feeding.
For those interested in more exotic creatures, the bug barn houses species like the goliath tarantula. Other attractions include a sand play barn, pedal tractors, indoor soft play, and an outdoor play area, ensuring a full day out for families.
The management extended a "huge thank you to all our visitors for your continued support and patience" during the improvement works, eagerly awaiting the chance to welcome guests back to the enhanced farm park experience later this month.
