Center Parcs Dog Fee Hike: Price Soars 45% to £129, Sparks Outrage
Center Parcs dog fee up 45% to £129, sparks fury

Popular UK holiday firm Center Parcs has ignited a storm of criticism after implementing a substantial price increase for guests wishing to bring their canine companions.

Substantial Price Jump for Four-Legged Guests

The company, which operates forest holiday villages including sites in Buckinghamshire and Nottinghamshire, has raised its fee for dogs by a significant 45 per cent. The cost has jumped from £89 to £129 per break, an increase of £40.

News of the change, announced in January 2026, was met with immediate anger from many customers who regularly holiday with their pets. The move has been widely discussed and criticised on social media platforms.

Customer Backlash and Kennel Comparisons

Reacting on Facebook, one disgruntled guest pointed out the financial disparity, stating: “For a weekend, it’s cheaper to kennel the dog. It’s a shame as we’ve enjoyed taking them.” This sentiment highlights a key concern for families who now feel penalised for including their pet in the family holiday.

Another critic accused the company of profiteering, commenting: “It’s a lot of money on top of however much you’re already paying. It’s to squeeze every last penny out of people.” A third simply described feeling “pretty miffed” by the unexpected extra cost.

Company's Defence and Lodge Features

In response to the outcry, a Center Parcs spokesperson said the adjustment was part of an update to “make it transparent and straightforward.” The firm promotes its dog-friendly lodges heavily, stating on its website that dogs “deserve a break too.”

The accommodation is specifically designed for pets and includes:

  • Vertical door handles to prevent escapes.
  • Wooden flooring for easy cleaning.
  • A tether ring on the patio.
  • Scratch-resistant door protection.
  • A bath for washing muddy dogs.

Guests are permitted to bring up to two dogs per lodge. Despite these tailored amenities, the sharp price rise has left many loyal customers questioning the value and reconsidering their future holiday plans with their pets.
