Popular Midlands restaurant chain Harvester has shut down its branch on Lubbesthorpe Way in Meridian Leisure Park, Leicester, as of today. The closure comes after 15 years of serving the local community.
Closure due to estate review
The decision was made by Mitchells & Butlers, the parent company of Harvester, following a "continual review of our estate." A spokesperson stated that the closure was announced after "careful consideration."
In a statement, the spokesperson said: "Sadly, we can confirm the Harvester Meridian Park will close following service on April 24th, 2026, after 15 years serving the people of Leicestershire."
What happens next?
Fans of the chain will need to travel over 10 miles to the nearest Harvester locations in Loughborough, Nuneaton, or Rugby. The company expressed hope to return to the area once a suitable site is identified.
"There is still just over a week for locals to enjoy Meridian Park and we look forward to bringing our famous salad bar and fresh rotisserie back once we've identified the right site," the spokesperson added.
In the meantime, loyal customers are encouraged to visit Harvester Nuneaton or the recently refurbished Harvester Loughborough.
Thank you to staff and customers
The company thanked its team and guests for their support over the past 15 years. On Facebook, the branch posted a farewell message: "A very fond farewell Leicester, from all of us at Harvester Meridian. The whole team would like to thank you for all your love, support and well wishes. It's great to leave on such a high but we are all sad to leave this Harvester family."
They added: "It's been an amazing 15 years with a lot of fun memories. We will dearly miss all of our regulars. Hopefully we'll cross paths again one day."
