Martin Lewis Urges EasyJet & Ryanair Passengers to Act Before February
Martin Lewis: Act Now on EasyJet & Ryanair Flight Sales

Consumer champion Martin Lewis has issued a time-sensitive alert for holidaymakers, highlighting major January sales from budget airlines EasyJet and Ryanair. Through his Money Saving Expert (MSE) newsletter, the BBC and ITV star is urging travellers to move quickly to secure significant discounts before the offers expire in early February.

EasyJet's "Big Orange Sale" Offers Up to £400 Off

According to the MSE team, EasyJet launched its 'Big Orange Sale' on Friday 19 December. The promotion provides substantial savings on package holidays when a specific code is used at checkout. The discounts are tiered based on the total spend.

Travellers can save £400 on a minimum spend of £4,000, £300 on £3,000, £150 on £1,500, £100 on £800, and £50 on £500. This offer is notably more generous than the airline's previous Black Friday promotion, which capped savings at £200.

The crucial deadline for this deal is 11pm on 3 February 2026. The discount is valid for holidays booked by then, for travel any time between now and 31 October 2027.

Ryanair's "Pig Seat Sale" with Millions of Discounted Fares

Meanwhile, Ryanair has kicked off its own January promotion, which it is calling its "Pig Seat Sale." The airline claims to have discounted 10 million seats for travel between Sunday 1 March and Saturday 31 October.

To grab these deals, passengers must book by Sunday 8 February. The discounts are already applied to the listed fares, with MSE spotting one-way tickets from as little as £14.99 from various UK airports.

These departure points include Birmingham, Edinburgh, East Midlands, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, and Newcastle. However, the MSE team offers a word of caution: while one-way fares can be incredibly low, return flights often cost more.

Examples of Current Flight Deals

Martin Lewis's newsletter provided specific examples of the bargains currently available. One highlighted offer is a return flight from Birmingham to Mallorca (Majorca) for just £38 this month. Other sales across various travel operators, including British Airways, were also mentioned, with examples like London to New York return for £374.

The core message from Money Saving Expert is clear: January is a prime time for flight sales, but these window-of-opportunity deals require prompt action. Holidaymakers looking to book getaways for 2026 and beyond should review these offers immediately to avoid missing the early February booking deadlines.
