McDonald's is launching a magical Christmas transformation for its famous Happy Meals across the United Kingdom, bringing festive cheer to families just in time for the holidays.
Festive Fun Arrives in Happy Meals
From tomorrow, November 19th, 2025, every Happy Meal purchased in the UK will contain a special surprise. The fast-food giant has partnered with the popular Elf on the Shelf brand to fill its iconic red boxes with seasonal magic.
Children will be delighted to find they can choose from a collection of 12 different Elf on the Shelf toys, each boasting its own unique and cheeky charm. For those who prefer a story, an exclusive book from the Elf on the Shelf series is also available as an alternative to a toy.
Seasonal Menu Updates and Festive Activities
The festive makeover extends beyond the toys. McDonald's has confirmed that the much-loved Mayo Chicken will now be part of the Happy Meal menu, described as the perfect bite for little elves. Furthermore, the chain's carrot sticks are receiving a merry rebrand, being transformed into 'Reindeer Treats' with special holiday packaging.
A spokesperson for McDonald's shared the excitement, stating: "Every Happy Meal is a little bundle of joy, packed with merry spirit and perfect for sharing magical moments together."
To further bring the campaign to life, McDonald's restaurants across the UK will host a range of family activities. These will include character visits from the elves, face painting sessions, and themed activity pages designed to create unforgettable memories.
How to Get Your Festive Happy Meal
It is important to note that these special Happy Meal toys cannot be purchased online. However, McDonald's has clarified that the toys can usually be bought separately inside their restaurants, subject to availability.
A standard Happy Meal offers a main item choice of a McFish, Mayo Chicken, 4 Chicken McNuggets, or 2-piece Veggie Dippers. This is accompanied by a side of fruit or vegetables and a selection of small cold drinks, including bottled water or milk. Each meal also includes either a book or a toy.
With a presence in the UK since 1974, McDonald's now operates more than 1,560 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, serving over three million customers every day. This festive update is set to sprinkle some extra joy for countless families this Christmas season.
