Vieni Restaurant Brings Authentic Sicilian Flavours to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter
Sicilian Restaurant Vieni Opens in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter

A vibrant new culinary destination is preparing to open its doors in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter, bringing the authentic flavours of Sicily to the heart of the West Midlands. Vieni, which translates to "come in" from Italian, will welcome its first guests on Saturday 7th February 2026, marking a significant addition to the area's dining scene.

A Personal Culinary Journey

Founded by chef Angelina Adamo and led by Charlotte Carter, Vieni occupies a spacious 1,485 square foot unit within The Goodsyard development on Pitsford Street. The restaurant becomes the first hospitality venue to open in this landmark new development, featuring seating for 40 diners in a carefully designed environment.

The menu represents a deeply personal reflection of Angelina's heritage, drawing direct inspiration from her grandmother's traditional Sicilian cooking. "Vieni allows me to bring my Nonna's cooking into a restaurant setting for the first time," explains Angelina. "Seeing that vision realised in my first permanent space is incredibly special."

From Morning Coffee to Evening Feasts

Morning service begins with coffee brewed in traditional moka pots, served alongside fresh brioche and sharp lemon granita. As the day progresses, the menu features generous, unfussy plates including whole sea bass and chargrilled beef ribs, all prepared with Sicilian authenticity at their core.

Throughout the offering, there are deliberate nods to Sicilian street food culture, with arancini and cannoli featuring prominently. For dessert, diners can enjoy Angelina's father Giovanni's tiramisu, generously soaked in Marsala wine. The drinks list showcases Italian spritzes and liqueurs, alongside indulgent affogatos for coffee lovers.

Design and Experience

At the heart of the restaurant sits an open kitchen, allowing diners to watch the culinary team at work. The design incorporates bespoke Sicilian-inspired wallpaper and handmade plates by Moulded by Sarah Jane. A statement disco ball from Disco Heads catches the light, while a Bertha charcoal oven and striking Ferrari-red coffee machine complete the professional kitchen setup.

"When I first viewed the site, sunlight flooded the space and I just knew," recalls Angelina. "My very first thought was how perfectly a disco ball would catch the light!"

Proven Culinary Expertise

Chef-founder Angelina Adamo brings more than a decade of experience working across Michelin-starred restaurants, hotels and kitchens of various scales. She is also the founder of Tutto Apposto, which has evolved from intimate private dining into a successful events and hospitality business that currently operates the Circle Lounge at Birmingham Hippodrome.

Vieni represents Angelina's first bricks-and-mortar restaurant venture. "I can't wait to showcase that Sicilian food isn't just pizza and pasta, it's so much more!" she enthuses, promising diners an authentic transport to Agrigento, Sicily through fresh, bright dishes full of life and tradition.
