A distinctive plot of council-owned land in a Birmingham neighbourhood is heading to the auction block next month, offering potential developers a blank canvas for new projects.
Prime Handsworth Plot with Development Potential
The triangular parcel of land, located to the rear of 92-97 Handsworth New Road in Handsworth, will be sold on behalf of Birmingham City Council. The auction, managed by Bond Wolfe, will take place on Wednesday, 5 February, with the lot carrying a guide price of £75,000 or more.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, described the site as approximately 0.12 acres in size and situated in a primarily residential area. It lies near Hockley Brook, at the junction of Reynolds Road, Handsworth New Road and Boulton Road.
Flexible Future Uses for the Site
Mr Bassi highlighted the plot's flexibility, stating it "may be suitable for a variety of uses, subject to planning permission." This opens the door for prospective buyers to consider a range of development options, though any plans would naturally require the necessary consents from the local planning authority.
The land sale forms part of a larger auction event featuring numerous lots. The Bond Wolfe auction is scheduled to commence at 8.30am on Thursday, 5 February.
How to Bid in the Upcoming Auction
The entire auction will be livestreamed via the Bond Wolfe website to accommodate remote participation. Interested bidders can place their offers through several methods, including proxy, telephone, or online internet bidding.
Those looking to secure this piece of Birmingham land or explore other available lots must register in advance to participate. Full details on the registration process and the auction catalogue are available directly through the auctioneer's official website.
