The latest iteration of Kia's best-selling model, the Sportage, has arrived with a comprehensive facelift for 2025. Unveiled on 22nd November 2025, the updated SUV features a radically new front-end design, a host of smarter cabin technologies, and more efficient hybrid powertrains, ensuring it remains a formidable contender in the competitive family SUV market.
A Design That Demands Attention
Kia's new unified design language, known as Opposites United, has been boldly applied to the Sportage's front end. This results in a striking and somewhat divisive new face, characterised by a vast grille and daytime running lights that are pushed so far outwards they appear mounted on the vehicle's sides. While this cohesive brand styling is a statement, it may take some time for public opinion to settle on its aesthetic appeal.
In contrast, the rear of the vehicle presents a far more conventional and sober appearance. The rear-quarter view is considered particularly attractive, offering a significantly more modern and refined look than the outgoing model.
Enhanced Powertrains and Driving Dynamics

One minor gripe carried over from previous models is the presence of persistent safety warnings. However, Kia has included shortcut buttons that provide temporary relief via the infotainment screen, mitigating the irritation to some degree.
Remaining a 'Safe Bet' for UK Families
Despite its bold new face, the facelifted Sportage continues to uphold its reputation as a dependable family choice. It boasts better fuel economy and lower emissions than its predecessor. Crucially, Kia has kept prices competitive and continues to offer its renowned seven-year warranty, alongside genuinely appealing finance deals.
The 2025 Kia Sportage facelift successfully builds upon the model's proven formula by adding more technology, improved efficiency, and a more modern cabin. While its front-end styling will inevitably divide opinion, its core strengths as a practical, well-equipped, and reliable family SUV are stronger than ever.
