Substantial Vacant Land Plot Adjacent to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter Set for Auction

A considerable area of undeveloped land located in close proximity to Birmingham's renowned Jewellery Quarter is scheduled to appear in an upcoming property auction. The freehold site at Key Hill in Hockley, currently under the ownership of Birmingham City Council, will be offered for sale through Bond Wolfe's livestreamed auction event on Thursday, 26 March.

Prime Location and Auction Details

The vacant plot, extending to approximately 35,038 square feet, which equates to more than 0.8 acres, will feature a guide price starting at £800,000. Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, highlighted the site's strategic positioning just off the roundabout where Icknield Street meets Boulton Middleway, part of the Birmingham Ring Road near the Hockley Flyover.

Mr Bassi elaborated: "This substantial parcel of land lies within the city's Clean Air Zone due to its location inside the ring road. It is conveniently situated close to the Jewellery Quarter and merely a short walk from the Jewellery Quarter train station, making it accessible and potentially suitable for a range of uses, subject to obtaining the necessary planning permissions."

Vibrant Surroundings and Development Potential

The Jewellery Quarter itself is a bustling hub featuring over 100 jewellery retailers, diamond and precious metal dealers, and workshops, alongside the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter. The area is celebrated for its historic Georgian architecture, including buildings surrounding the grassy St Paul's Square and the 18th century St Paul's Church.

Additionally, the neighbourhood boasts numerous independent stores, trendy bars, art galleries, and a diverse array of restaurants, contributing to its dynamic atmosphere. This land plot will be one of multiple lots included in Bond Wolfe's auction, which commences at 8.30am on 26 March.

Auction Process and Participation

The auction will be broadcast live via Bond Wolfe's official website, allowing for remote bidding through proxy, telephone, or internet methods. This digital approach facilitates broad participation from potential buyers interested in acquiring this prime piece of Birmingham real estate for future development opportunities.
