Asda Recalls £2.57 Party Snack Over Safety Fears
Asda recalls unsafe party snack from shelves

Supermarket giant Asda has issued an urgent product recall and is instructing customers to return a specific party snack, warning it is unsafe to eat.

What Product Is Affected?

The recall involves Asda's 10 Mini Duck Spring Rolls with Hoisin Dip, which were sold for £2.57. The product has been urgently removed from store shelves nationwide.

The reason for the recall is a critical packaging error concerning the use-by date. The packaging incorrectly displays a use-by date of 29 December 2025, while the actual and safe date for consumption was 29 November 2025.

Official Safety Warning and Customer Action

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has officially classified the product as unsafe to consume after the correct November date. A spokesman for the FSA confirmed the details of the recall.

Asda has issued clear instructions for any customer who has purchased the product: do not eat it. Instead, shoppers should return the item to their nearest Asda store for a full refund. A receipt is not required to process the return.

Point-of-sale notices explaining the situation are being displayed in all relevant stores. For further information, customers can contact Asda Customer Relations on 0800 952 0101.

Broader Context: Asda's Community Initiatives

This product safety notice comes as Asda continues its involvement in community and charitable projects. The supermarket recently announced a partnership with BBC Children in Need and Farewill, offering a free online will-writing service until Sunday 30 November.

This initiative follows Asda's celebration of raising over £3.1 million for this year's BBC Children in Need Appeal. Jenny Maden, Head of Insurance at Asda Money, highlighted the importance of helping customers manage their financial affairs while supporting a charitable cause.
