Shoppers in Birmingham are set for a festive treat as the city's two largest retail hubs, Bullring and Grand Central, have announced a series of extended opening hours for the busy Christmas period. The changes begin with the Black Friday sales and continue right through to the New Year, giving visitors more time to find the perfect gifts.
Extended Hours for Black Friday and Christmas Shopping
The extended schedule kicks off on Black Friday, the 28th of November. Instead of closing at the usual time of 8pm, the shopping centres will remain open for an extra hour, welcoming customers until 9pm.
This pattern of longer hours resumes in the crucial week before Christmas. On Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th of December, the centres will again be open from 10am until 9pm. The extended schedule continues over the weekend with opening times from 9am to 9pm on Saturday the 20th of December.
For the final frantic shopping days, the hours are even more generous. On Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd of December, Bullring and Grand Central will stay open from 9am until 10pm, offering ample opportunity for last-minute purchases.
Festive Spectacles and Revised Seasonal Schedule
Beyond just extended shopping, the Bullring is adding to the festive season cheer with a special event. Between the 5th and 13th of December, the iconic Selfridges store will host its popular confetti spectacle in the Atrium. The event will feature dancing, live performances, and a confetti cannon. Visitors can catch the show at 6pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends.
The shopping centres have also confirmed their complete schedule for the key holiday dates. It is important to note that individual store hours may vary, so it is always best to check with specific retailers before travelling.
