Dobbies Garden Centre Unveils New Cottage Kitchen Food Hall in Major Expansion

Dobbies Garden Centre has introduced a new cottage kitchen garden-style food hall at its Cadnam location, with plans to open dozens more across the UK as part of a significant expansion. The food hall aims to elevate the overall shopping experience by offering an expanded range of products, blending essentials, treats, and seasonal variety.

Enhancing the Garden Centre Experience

Dean Mumford, general manager at Dobbies Cadnam, emphasized the importance of the food hall, stating it is one of the most popular areas in the store. "We've been working hard on the new format that's inspired by a cottage kitchen garden and brings together essentials, treats and seasonal variety through a range of both popular and new brands," he said. The launch weekend, which began on Thursday, March 12, featured product sampling and a chance to win a hamper, drawing in customers to explore the new offerings.

Extensive Product Range and New Brands

The food hall stocks more than 1,500 products, including Dobbies' famous scones and tray bakes. New brands such as Botham's of Whitby and Patteson's have joined the lineup, alongside well-known names like Lindt and Tony's Chocolonely. The pantry section includes global foods, while the frozen range features premium brands such as Cook, Supper Club, and Jude's ice cream.

Broader Expansion Plans

Matthew Huckstep, general manager at Dobbies Ponteland, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the food hall's role in the garden centre experience. This launch is part of a larger initiative to roll out similar food halls nationwide, aiming to boost customer engagement and sales. Dobbies, which has garden centres in the West Midlands and other regions, continues to innovate in the retail sector, focusing on creating immersive and enjoyable shopping environments.
