Greggs, the renowned bakery chain, is making a significant menu expansion this week with the nationwide launch of its first-ever matcha-based beverages. From Thursday, February 5, customers across the UK, including those in Birmingham branches, can purchase the new Iced Matcha range, with prices starting from just £3 per drink.

A Trio of Trendy Beverages

The bakery giant is introducing what it describes as a "chic new trio of drinks to the menu", directly competing with established coffee chains like Starbucks. The range includes the classic Iced Matcha Latte, the Vanilla Iced Matcha Latte, and the Strawberry Iced Matcha Latte, offering variety to suit different taste preferences.

Affordable Quality and Choice

A Greggs spokesperson emphasised the company's commitment to providing value, stating: "We're on a mission to offer our customers more choice and quality than ever before, without the premium price tag. By introducing our trio of Iced Matcha drinks, we're making a trending favourite accessible to everyone on the high street."

The spokesperson added that the drinks are designed to deliver on both appearance and taste, expressing confidence that customers will appreciate the new offerings. Matcha, a powdered green tea, has grown in popularity and is commonly used in various beverages and foods, from iced lattes and energy drinks to pancakes and mousses, available both hot and cold, with or without alcoholic additions.

Wellness Meets Pastry: The Matcha & Move Studio

In a novel move blending wellness with its bakery offerings, Greggs is also launching its first-ever Pilates Studio, named Greggs: Matcha & Move. This unique experience will be available in central London on Friday, February 13, and Saturday, February 14.

Exclusive Wellness Experience

The company says the sessions will provide fans with a distinctive wellness opportunity. Participants can book a 30-minute Greggs-themed Pilates class, followed by a complimentary Iced Matcha drink to refuel. This will be accompanied by either a classic Greggs Sausage Roll or the pork-free Vegan Roll, creating a full sensory experience.

Attendees will also receive a bundle of limited-edition merchandise, including a signature Greggs Pilates mat, a tote bag, a sweat towel, socks, and a cap, making the event a memorable occasion for enthusiasts of both fitness and the bakery's products.
