Lidl Crowned UK's Cheapest Christmas Dinner Supermarket for 2025
Lidl's £11.85 Christmas Dinner Beats All Rivals

Lidl has been officially unveiled as the UK's most affordable supermarket for a traditional Christmas Day dinner in 2025, presenting a staggering deal that significantly undercuts its competitors.

The Budget-Friendly Feast Breakdown

The discount grocer is offering a complete festive meal for eight people at a total cost of just £11.85. The centrepiece of this offer is a whole 3.5kg turkey for only £9. The incredible value extends to the vegetable selection, where most items are priced at a mere 8p each.

This includes a 2kg bag of potatoes, a 1kg bag of carrots, and a 500g bag of Brussels sprouts. Further bolstering the bargain are sides like a 1kg bag of parsnips for 16p and two tubs of Newgate stuffing at 45p each.

For those who consider them essential, the retailer is also selling 15 Yorkshire puddings for 46p and a 300g pot of gravy for £1.09. When calculated, this brings the cost per person for the entire Christmas feast to an astonishing £1.50.

How Lidl Storms Ahead in the Price War

This offer positions Lidl far ahead of other supermarkets in the race for the cheapest Christmas dinner. Prior to this announcement, Aldi was ranked as the best value with a meal costing £31.73, according to the Isle of Wight County Press.

Lidl's deal is nearly £20 cheaper than this. At the other end of the scale, Marks & Spencer was found to be the most expensive, with a festive shop totalling £80.95.

The key reason behind Lidl's ability to offer such low prices lies in its aggressive pricing strategy on core components, particularly vegetables. Customers can also purchase a 300g bag of shallots and individual swedes for just 8p each.

A Seasonal Offer with a Deadline

Shoppers looking to capitalise on this remarkable deal should be aware that it is a time-limited promotion. Lidl's Christmas dinner offer is set to be axed on December 19, 2025.

It is also worth noting that the price battle among supermarkets may not be over. Last year saw several grocers, including Asda, Aldi, and Lidl, slash their vegetable prices to 8p at the last minute to remain competitive, suggesting there could be further developments in the coming weeks.
