The festive price war has officially begun, with supermarket giants Morrisons and Tesco going head-to-head in a battle to offer customers the best half-price deal on Christmas trees.
The Morrisons Christmas Tree Offer
Morrisons is now selling a 6ft Christmas tree for just £10, a significant reduction from its original price of £20. This offer is exclusively available to shoppers who have a More Card.
The tree is a 180cm pine model with wrapped branches and includes a plastic stand. This bargain was first highlighted by the popular Dansway Gifts and Bargains UK Facebook page and reported by the Sun.
Shoppers must act quickly, as this promotion is only running until November 30. The trees can be purchased in-store or ordered online for click and collect.
Tesco's Competitive Christmas Deal
Not to be outdone, Tesco has launched a remarkably similar offer for its loyal Clubcard holders. The supermarket is slashing the price of its real Christmas trees by fifty percent.
Clubcard users can purchase a five to six feet tall Nordman Fir tree for only £20, down from the standard price of £40.
This deal is available until December 14, or until stocks sell out, so availability is not guaranteed. For those with less space, Tesco is also offering smaller trees. A 2.5ft to 3.5ft Nordman Fir is now priced at £15 for Clubcard members, reduced from £30.
Don't Forget Your Loyalty Card
For both supermarkets, using the respective loyalty card is non-negotiable. At Tesco, customers must scan their Clubcard at the checkout to secure the half-price tree. Similarly, the £10 price at Morrisons is exclusively for More Card holders.
This annual battle for festive shoppers is a clear indicator that the Christmas shopping season is in full swing, with supermarkets competing fiercely for customer loyalty.
