Moss, the men's clothing retailer, is set to close its shop on Birmingham's New Street after 28 years of trading. The store, located on the corner of Temple Street and New Street, has been a fixture since 1998, offering suits and accessories to Brummies.
Move to Bullring
The company opened a new branch in the Bullring shopping centre in 2025, replacing the former Yours store on the middle floor near Marks and Spencer. Customers are being directed to the new Bullring location. Moss, previously known as Moss Bros, rebranded in 2023.
Closure Timeline
According to BirminghamLive, the New Street store will continue trading until September, with an exact closing date to be announced. Signage in the window reads: "We're moving with many familiar faces. Explore our full collection at Bullring Shopping Centre, Birmingham, B5 4BU."
The shop sits beside T4, which closed at the end of last year. The unit is now advertised for let. Both shops are part of the Temple Buildings, a Grade II-listed property sold last year in a £4m deal by MK2 Real Estate to a private investor.
New Openings on New Street
The closure follows news of a new shop on New Street. Last week, it was revealed that Bird and Blend, a tea shop, will take over the former Claire's Accessories unit, selling loose leaf teas, teapots, and accessories. On the lower stretch near the Bullring, Maki and Ramen is finalising its restaurant in King Edward House.
