Poundstretcher, the well-known discount retailer, is preparing to launch a new store in Sutton Coldfield this week. The outlet will occupy the former Poundland location on The Parade, with its grand opening scheduled for Friday, February 27.

Expanding Retail Footprint with Local Employment

The new Beeston store spans an impressive 6,093 square feet and is expected to generate up to 15 jobs for the local community. Several former Poundland employees are among those who will have opportunities to join the team, bolstering employment in the area.

Shoppers can look forward to an extensive selection of bargains, including both branded and non-branded items. The store will feature categories such as:

Background and Recent Expansion

Founded in 1981, Poundstretcher was acquired by Fortress Investment Group in April 2024. Since then, the retailer has actively expanded, opening new stores in locations such as Banbury, Bognor Regis, Hinckley, Kimberley, Leicester, Portsmouth, Shepherd’s Bush, Strood, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Truro. This expansion has created over 100 new jobs nationwide, highlighting the brand's ongoing growth strategy.
