Crowds gathered in Oldbury on Friday morning, November 14, for the grand opening of a new The Range store, marking a significant addition to the Midlands' retail landscape.
A New Home and Garden Destination
The new store, located in the former Homebase unit, was officially unveiled with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Described as a one-stop destination for all home and garden improvements, the opening drew enthusiastic shoppers eager to explore the new offering.
There was a special incentive for the earliest arrivals, as the first 50 customers through the doors were handed a goodie bag filled with various products.
In-Store Excitement and Exclusive Offers
Shoppers were treated to a dynamic in-store experience, with brand representatives like Westlands hosting demonstrations. They showcased their latest products and provided shoppers with exclusive promotions and handy tips.
Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, which trades as The Range, Wilko, and Homebase, expressed his delight. “We’re thrilled to have welcomed so many people to our new Oldbury location, following the acquisition of Homebase,” he said. “It was amazing to see the community come together to celebrate.”
Everything Under One Roof
A key feature of the new store is the inclusion of a Garden Centre by Homebase. This ensures that gardening enthusiasts have not missed out, with the centre offering everything from outdoor plants and tools to essential supplies.
Mr Simpkin emphasised the store's extensive range, stating, “Oldbury shoppers can now find everything from premium plants and outdoor living solutions to stylist homeware from The Range, pet products and everyday essentials, all under one roof.”
The store also provides a free click and collect service. Customers can shop online via www.homebase.co.uk or therange.co.uk and collect their purchases in-store within an hour.
In a pet-friendly move, the retailer has also confirmed that well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the new Oldbury store.
