Gamers are snapping up the new release of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream for the cheapest price around. The Nintendo title has dropped from £49.99 to just £33.74 thanks to a deal stack with Argos and TopCashback.
More than 10 years since its initial release, Tomodachi Life has been brought back for gamers, and Nintendo fans can pick it up at a big discount. Often referred to as a mix between Sims and Animal Crossing, the life-sim game has dropped to its lowest price since its re-launch. That is for Argos shoppers who stack its new £49.99 release price with TopCashback, a deals site which gives shoppers a proportion of their money back. Effectively dropping the price from £49.99 to £33.74 for new members once cashback is paid.
The social game lets users create their own characters, also known as Miis. Unlike Animal Crossing, gamers control multiple Miis, not just one individual. The 2026 release, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, is an overhaul of the original 3DS formula. It introduces features that fans have been requesting for over a decade, including same-sex relationships for Miis characters and new customisation. This comes with the 2026 Palette House feature, which lets players design their own figures, draw clothes, and create pets. The new launch also sees the addition of the Wishing Fountain, an upgrade from the 2013/2014 game.
The long-awaited Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is back, and Nintendo Switch players can cut the cost using an Argos and TopCashback deal stack. This has swapped from a simple hangout location to a functional place to unlock new items and features. The addition of little quirks really adds the vibrancy of each individual island, said one reviewer from Gaming Checkpoint. They tried the newest version and called it a treasure to play, adding: The meat of the game really revolves around forcing the Miis to interact with each other and seeing what happens. It is very simple and not really heavy on the gameplay. Still, there is a lot of fun to be had in watching these little characters conversing with each other, especially since it is possible to create an addictive mix of fiction and reality depending on who you decide to invite to the island.
However, for players looking for the nostalgia features from the original game, this newest version may not get full marks, as some characteristics have been left off. Rap battles have been replaced, and the song creator task at the music hall has gone. Gaming Checkpoint did touch on some of the downsides, including simple features. They said: Unfortunately, the interactions between Miis can get pretty repetitive. A friendship conversation always follows the same beats, and new scenes come pretty rarely.
As well as using the TopCashback deal stack, the game is also available to buy from Nintendo and Amazon for £49.99. For similar style games, Animal Crossing is a classic and now £42.99 at GAME, while Pokémon Pokopia is a stress-free island-building game, currently priced at £59.99 at Argos.
