Marine Academy Primary Raises Funds for Buddy Bench

Dozens of pupils, parents, and staff from Marine Academy Primary took part in the Plymouth Half Marathon and 10K, along with other running challenges including the Final Mile, to raise funds for a new compassionate buddy bench. The bench will enhance the school's outdoor learning environment and provide a dedicated space for pupils to support one another.

Community Effort in Plymouth

Runners of all abilities participated, from those completing their first organized event to more experienced athletes, all united by the goal of supporting the school. The fundraising page remains open for donations at https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/compassionate-buddy-bench.

Outdoor Learning Focus

Marine Academy Primary emphasizes outdoor learning, with pupils regularly caring for rabbits, chickens, and guinea pigs, growing fruit and vegetables, and engaging in hands-on nature activities. The new buddy bench will provide seating for these activities and a welcoming space for children to sit, talk, and support each other.
