Milestone Celebration for Domestic Abuse Charity
Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre (MFCC) celebrated its 45th anniversary with a special event that recognized decades of dedicated support for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. The gathering brought together supporters, staff, volunteers, and local community members to mark this significant milestone.
Powerful Speeches and Recognition
Guests were moved by heartfelt speeches from Rhiannon Bragg, Maya Jordan, and Nicola Garrett, who shared their personal experiences and underscored the ongoing impact of domestic abuse, as well as the critical importance of MFCC's work. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a High Sheriff Award to Jane Stephens, former director of MFCC, by the High Sheriff of Powys. The award honored Jane's exceptional dedication and her substantial contributions to the organization over many years.
Entertainment and Community Spirit
The celebration featured live performances from National Milk Bar and the Newtown and District Male Voice Choir, creating a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere for all attendees. MFCC expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the event's success, including those who attended, donated raffle prizes, and made financial contributions. The organization emphasized that reaching its 45-year milestone would not have been possible without the continued support of the community.
CEO Reflects on Anniversary
Speaking after the event, Hayley Heard, CEO of MFCC, said: “This celebration was not only about reflecting on our history, but also about recognising the strength of the community that continues to support our work. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone and remain committed to supporting those affected by domestic abuse.”
