A tragic road traffic collision in Evesham has resulted in the death of a pensioner and the arrest of a teenage driver.

Details of the Fatal Incident

The incident occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, shortly before 4pm on the A44 in Wickhamford, near Longdon Hill. The collision involved a beige Dacia Duster and a blue Toyota Yaris.

Sadly, the driver of the Dacia Duster, a man in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

Police Investigation and Arrest

A man aged 18 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody as enquiries by West Mercia Police continue.

Two other people were treated for their injuries at the scene and were subsequently left in the care of the ambulance service.

Urgent Appeal for Witnesses

Officers have launched an urgent appeal for information to assist their investigation. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the vehicles travelling along the A44 prior to the incident.

Police have specifically identified the occupants of a white van who stopped to help as people they believe can provide crucial information.

The force stated: "Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and may have dashcam footage that captures the vehicles travelling along the A44 before the incident."
