Burntwood Murder: Man Dead, Dog Stabbed, Three Arrested

This is the scene of a police murder investigation in Burntwood after a man was found dead following reports of a fight. Detectives and forensics officers have sealed off Hazel Grove, and three people have been arrested.

Staffordshire Police were called at 9am on Tuesday, May 5, to reports of a disturbance at an address on the new-build estate. A seriously injured man was discovered and pronounced dead just after 10am. A dog also suffered stab wounds and is being treated by a vet.

Arrests Made

Two men, aged 32 and 27, and a woman, aged 33, were arrested on suspicion of murder. Staffordshire Police said: "Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in Burntwood this morning. We were called to Hazel Grove shortly before 9am following reports of two men fighting. Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service."

Police Statement

"A man was found with significant injuries at the scene. Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead shortly after 10am. A dog was also found inside the house with suspected stab wounds and has been taken to a vet for treatment. Officers have put a cordon in place at the home and have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the man's death."

Ambulance Service Response

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident at a private address on Hazel Grove at 9.17am. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man. Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."

The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
