A man has died following a medical incident in Birmingham city centre on Saturday, June 20. West Midlands Police and paramedics were called to Edgbaston Street, just outside the Bullring, around 9pm after reports of a medical emergency.
Emergency Response and Death at Scene
Upon arrival, emergency services found the man in a critical condition. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service, who had been called at 8.46pm, dispatched two ambulances to the scene. Advanced life support was immediately commenced, but despite the best efforts of all involved, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson stated: 'Officers were called to Edgbaston Street, Birmingham, on Saturday (20 June) just after 9pm to reports of a medical incident. We attended alongside our ambulance colleagues and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene. A file has been prepared for the coroner.'
No Suspicious Circumstances
Police have confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A file has been prepared for Birmingham and Solihull Coroner's Court, which will conduct further inquiries into the incident.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: 'We were called to a medical emergency on Edgbaston Street in Birmingham at 8.46pm on Saturday (June 20) and sent two ambulances to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition and began advanced life support. Sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.'

The incident occurred in a busy area of the city centre, near the Bullring shopping centre, which typically sees high footfall on weekend evenings. The man's identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The coroner will determine the cause of death in due course.
