A driver in the West Midlands has reported a startling encounter with an unidentified flying object, sparking fresh speculation about the return of the legendary 'Dudley Dorito'.
The Nighttime Sighting
The incident occurred on Friday, November 21 at 7:17 pm. A motorist named James was driving along Thorns Road in Brierley Hill, Dudley, when his attention was captured by a strange formation of lights in the sky above.
Initially suspecting he was seeing a line of Starlink satellites, James decided to pull over into a cul-de-sac near Steven's Park for a clearer view. It was then that the true nature of the object became apparent.
A Silent and Unidentified Craft
What he observed was not a satellite formation but a single, huge and black rectangular craft. The object was silent and featured distinct lights on each of its four corners.
After being observed for a short period, the craft began to move, flying silently in the direction of the Merry Hill shopping centre until it disappeared from sight.
In a move that deepened the mystery, James immediately checked a flight radar application on his phone. The app, Flight Scanner, showed no air traffic in the vicinity that could account for what he was witnessing.
James managed to take several photographs of the unusual object as it moved away, which have since been shared online.
Echoes of the 'Dudley Dorito'
This is not the first time such unexplained aerial phenomena have been reported in the area. For decades, residents of Dudley have reported sightings of unusual crafts, most notably a triangle-shaped object that earned the nickname the 'Dudley Dorito'.
Reports of the Dorito-shaped craft date back to the 2000s, with the last significant sighting reported in 2019. The Facebook page Black Country Paranormal Research, which published the latest account, noted that James' sighting of a rectangular craft bears a resemblance to the historical reports, reviving the local legend.
This latest event adds a new chapter to the area's long history of UFO encounters, leaving both sceptics and believers wondering what exactly is in the skies above the Black Country.
