The football community is in mourning following the tragic death of Halesowen Town FC president, Colin Brookes, who passed away after falling ill during a match.
A Sudden Illness at the Ground
Colin Brookes became unwell during the Halesowen Town FC versus Stratford Town FC match on Tuesday, November 25. Despite immediate medical attention from paramedics, club staff, and even the mothers of players Kyle Finn and James Kellerman, his condition did not improve.
He was treated at the scene but sadly died a short time later, despite the best efforts of everyone involved.

Halesowen Town FC released an emotional statement confirming the devastating news. The club expressed its profound sadness and shared that their thoughts are with Colin's wife, Karen, and all his family and friends.
The statement poignantly noted that for a man so dedicated to the club, a sudden passing while watching his 'beloved Yeltz' was perhaps the way he would have chosen.

The news has sent shockwaves through the local football scene. Birmingham County FA shared its deepest condolences on social media platform X, sending thoughts to everyone at the club and Colin's loved ones.
Other clubs also paid their respects. Real Bedford FC stated that everyone at their club was sending their deepest sympathies, while Dudley Town FC offered their thoughts to everyone at Halesowen Town FC and Colin's family, adding 'May you rest in peace, Colin.'
