Meghan Markle Reveals Why She Fell for Prince Harry's Playful Nature
Meghan Markle shares reason she fell for Prince Harry

In a remarkably candid revelation, Meghan Markle has shared the genuine reason she fell in love with Prince Harry, emphasising that his royal status played no part in her attraction to the Duke of Sussex.

The Real Connection Behind Royal Romance

The Duchess of Sussex, who first met Harry on a blind date arranged by mutual friends in July 2016, disclosed that their connection was immediate and profound. The couple arranged their second date just one day after their initial meeting, quickly establishing a powerful bond that would ultimately lead to marriage.

Despite the obvious allure of dating a prince and the grandeur of Kensington Palace, the 44-year-old former Suits actress remained unmoved by Harry's royal privileges or his relationship with the Queen. Instead, she found herself drawn to his authentic personality and perspective.

"He loves me so boldly, fully, and he also has a different perspective because he sees media that I wouldn't," Meghan revealed during her interview with Harper's Bazaar.

Playfulness Over Palace Life

The mother-of-two elaborated on what truly captured her heart, explaining: "No one in the world loves me more than him, so I know he's always going to make sure that he has my back."

She particularly highlighted Harry's infectious energy, noting: "You have someone who just has this childlike wonder and playfulness. I was so drawn to that, and he brought that out in me."

This playful dynamic has become fundamental to their relationship, extending even into their professional endeavours. "That's translated into every part of our life. Even in business, I want us to play and have fun and explore and be creative," Meghan shared.

Life Lessons and New Beginnings

The Duchess also reflected thoughtfully on the valuable lessons learned from mistakes made while living under intense public scrutiny. "You learn not to do it again," she stated, adding that smooth experiences provide fewer opportunities for growth compared to challenging ones.

Drawing parallels between parenting and entrepreneurship, Meghan explained: "I'm a mom with kids at that age where they are constantly learning something new. I watch them face things that feel completely insurmountable every day."

She applies this same compassionate perspective to her professional life: "I can give myself the same grace as a founder. There's no such thing as perfect. I, too, get to make mistakes."

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, life in Montecito has brought considerably more enjoyment for the Sussex family, including their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the latter named in honour of her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Using a baking analogy, Meghan suggested that excessive stress prevents people from enjoying life's pleasures, much like overworked dough fails to rise properly. "There's also not a lot of fun in trying to be perfect," she wisely observed.

Festive Celebrations and Netflix Ventures

The upcoming festive season promises particular joy for the Sussex household. Meghan, who secured a substantial contract with streaming platform Netflix, recently offered viewers a preview of her upcoming Christmas series scheduled to air on December 3.

The programme will feature the former actress alongside celebrity guests as they prepare festive food and decorations while sharing entertaining advice for the Christmas season. During filming, the couple's affection was evident as they shared a tender kiss in their kitchen.

Meghan expressed her enthusiasm for the project: "I love the holiday season, it's about finding time to connect with the people we love. Embracing traditions and making new ones."

In another departure from royal customs, she and Harry will continue their tradition of exchanging presents on Christmas Day rather than Christmas Eve, enjoying delicious cocktails and festive dishes including Christmas cookies as they create their own family traditions in California.
