Television presenter and singer Myleene Klass has shared a harrowing account of a terrifying dog attack that left her fearing for her infant daughter's life.
The incident, which she described during an emotional appearance on Loose Women on November 20, occurred when her eldest daughter, Ava, was just four months old.
A Mother's Worst Fear
Klass explained the context of the attack, revealing the profound vulnerability she felt as a first-time mother. The situation unfolded as she was securing her baby into a car seat.
A dog suddenly ran directly for her daughter. Acting on pure instinct, Myleene threw herself on top of the car seat to shield Ava with her own body.
"The dog was on top of me and it was just mauling away," Klass recounted. "It was utterly terrifying because I didn't know how long it was going to go on for."
The Aftermath and Lasting Impact
Despite hearing the owner shouting and other people attempting to intervene, Klass's sole focus was protecting her baby. The traumatic event was brought back to light during the panel's discussion of a recent incident involving Queen Camilla's son, Tom Parker-Bowles, and his Jack Russell.
Myleene's daughter, Ava, is now 17 years old and has recently started university. The singer marked this milestone with an emotional Instagram post, reflecting on their journey.
She highlighted the extra significance of this achievement, having raised Ava and her younger sister, Hero, as a single mother following her split from Graham Quinn in 2013.
"We have been through so much together," she wrote, "in particular the single mum journey where I often wondered if I could get her to this point alone. I never should have worried, we smashed it."
