The heartbroken parents of Mohammed Khan have spoken of their devastating grief after their 22-year-old son was brutally murdered in Walsall.
Details of the Attack
Mohammed was stabbed to death on Bloxwich Road after confronting an enemy in a violent clash between rivals. He suffered four fatal wounds to his neck, back and side, along with 16 sharp force injuries and a traumatic brain injury so severe his brain had to be buried separately from his body.
Convictions and Sentences
Four men have been jailed over the killing, which took place at 5pm on Monday, March 17 last year. Zain Raja, 23, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 18 years for murder, while Amaan Khan, 22, received eight years for manslaughter.
Mother's Heartbreaking Testimony
Mohammed's mother told Wolverhampton Crown Court: "He should be here today. He should be living his future." She described how she cannot sleep properly and struggles to find joy in anything since her son's death.
The grieving mum said: "I had to bury my son knowing that he was not whole." She revealed how Mohammed appears in her dreams, saying: "For a moment, I feel whole again. Then I wake up and remember he is gone."
Father's Pain
Mohammed's father described the pain of listening to how his son was killed during the trial. He said: "Since the day he was killed, my life has been divided in two parts - before and after."
The court heard Mohammed was "one man against a group" when he was kicked, punched and stamped on during the fatal attack.
