A festive treat with a twist is coming to Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre this weekend. Forget the traditional grotto for children; this one is designed exclusively for dogs.
Petsmas Comes to the City Centre
Pet retail giant Pets at Home is bringing its popular Pupmas tour to the city, setting up a present-shaped grotto in the heart of the Bullring. The event is part of the company's wider Petsmas campaign, aimed at celebrating family pets during the festive season.
The grotto will be open for one day only on Saturday, December 6. It operates on a first-come, first-served basis from 10am until 5pm, with no advance booking required. This follows successful stops in London and Liverpool.
What's On Offer for Paws and People
Canine visitors are in for a host of free festive delights. The star attraction is the complimentary 'puppuccino' – a special dog-friendly treat. Each pooch will also receive a free gift from Santa's sack and there are store vouchers to be won.
Owners haven't been forgotten either. While their pets enjoy their puppuccinos, humans can warm up with a complimentary hot chocolate. The event also features a unique photo opportunity for the whole family.
Festive Memories to Take Home
Although the grotto is for dogs, children can join in the fun at the family photo station. Here, they can pose for a 'paw-trait' in front of a Christmas tree constructed entirely from dog toys. The photo will be printed on the spot for families to keep.
There's also a stocking station where pet owners can get their dog's name embroidered onto a festive stocking. All treats and activities are available while stocks last, so early arrival is recommended for those wanting to take full advantage.
This unique event highlights the growing trend of including pets in holiday celebrations and offers a free, fun-filled day out in Birmingham city centre.
