Street Eat Food Festival Returns to Rochdale Town Hall Square in May
The highly anticipated Street Eat food and drink festival, which draws thousands of visitors annually, is set to make a triumphant return to Rochdale Town Hall Square this May. Organized by the Rochdale Business Improvement District (BID), this vibrant event promises another delicious serving of food, drink, free entertainment, and live music for all ages.
A Celebration of Local Culinary Excellence
Scheduled for Saturday, May 30, Street Eat brings together a diverse array of local food and drink establishments, offering visitors a chance to tantalize their taste buds and quench their thirst. Last year's edition attracted over 3,000 people, and this year's festival will feature mouth-watering dishes from local restaurant chefs, including Italian, Spanish, Indian, English, American, and more cuisines.
Paul Ambrose, the BID manager who organizes the event, emphasized that Street Eat showcases the vibrant and high-quality food and drink offerings in the town. "It's a fantastic event, giving us the opportunity to champion the very best local food and drink," he said. "Street Eat brings friends and families together, celebrating our vibrant town centre eateries and showing what a foodie hotspot the town is. We do all we can to make the event as affordable as possible too, and entry is free."
Free Entertainment and Family Fun
In addition to the culinary delights, Street Eat will offer a full program of free activities and rides for children, bars for adults, and a music stage providing hours of entertainment for all ages. The entertainment and music line-up will be announced in April, ensuring a lively atmosphere throughout the day.
Councillor Sue Smith, cabinet member for culture and co-operation at Rochdale Borough Council, praised the event, stating, "This is always such a great day out, and Rochdale Town Hall Square is a wonderful setting. Street Eat is a great celebration of the incredible food and drink offer we have here in our town, but on top of that, there's so much to see and do with a full programme of live music and lots of free family fun."
Confirmed and Upcoming Traders
While the full line-up of traders for this summer's edition is yet to be confirmed, it will include popular establishments such as tapas restaurant La Mancha, The Flying Horse Hotel, Vicolo Del Vino, Treehouse bar, and many more. This diverse selection ensures something for every palate, from casual snacks to gourmet experiences.
