Nominations Open for Nottinghamshire's 4Uth Award

Nominations are now being accepted for Nottinghamshire County Council's annual 4Uth Award, now in its 15th year. This prestigious award recognizes the exceptional achievements of young people from all seven districts across Nottinghamshire.

Who Can Be Nominated?

The council encourages nominations from friends, family members, schools, youth groups, and voluntary organizations. Any young person aged 11 to 19 (or up to 25 for those with a disability) who deserves recognition can be nominated.

Previous Winners' Stories

Past recipients have overcome significant challenges, including trauma, bereavement, and illness. Many have raised funds for charity, served as pillars in their local communities, cared for siblings or other family members, and consistently gone above and beyond for those around them.

Council Leader's Statement

Councillor Rory Green, the council's Cabinet Member for Children and Families, expressed his enthusiasm for the award. "This award is a phenomenal way to celebrate the achievements of young people across Nottinghamshire," he said. "It offers a platform for young people to rightfully feel seen and be proud of their personal achievements."

He added: "The young people in this county prove to be resilient, inspiring, caring, and so much more. Many of them have overcome barriers that we as adults can't even imagine. We want to celebrate them and give them the recognition they deserve."

Councillor Green recalled last year's difficult decision-making process, noting: "I recall fondly from last year the difficulty of deciding the winner! They were all worthy winners, and I am sure there are many more this time around."

How to Nominate

If you know someone who has done something extraordinary, complete the nomination form on the council's website. Nominations close on Friday, June 19. A panel of judges will assess all entries and select district winners, with the overall winner announced at a prestigious ceremony later this year.
