Birmingham is set to host a variety of exciting free Easter events for families to enjoy during the holiday period. From giant Easter eggs to creative workshops, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained without spending a penny.

Giant Easter Egg at Merry Hill

Merry Hill shopping centre will feature the UK's largest Easter egg, standing over five metres tall. This impressive display will serve as the centrepiece for festive activities running from Saturday, March 28, to Saturday, April 4.

Easter Fun Days at New Square

New Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich is organising two days of free family fun. On Thursday, April 2, visitors can participate in a craft workshop, join an egg hunt, and meet the Easter Bunny. Additionally, an Easter Mini Farm will be available on Wednesday, April 8.

Free Easter Holiday Fun at Resorts World

Resorts World will host creative activities in the Art Among Us pop-up gallery from March 28 to April 5. These include:

  • Creative drawing sessions
  • Lego building workshops
  • Scrap materials workshops
  • Weaving activities

Easter Bonnet Making & Parade at the Library of Birmingham

The Library of Birmingham in Centenary Square will hold a traditional Easter bonnet making and parade event on Wednesday, April 1. This is one of several free events taking place at the library during the Easter holidays.

Easter at the National Memorial Arboretum

Entry to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire, is free, with parking charged at £5 for cars booked in advance or £8 on the day. From March 30 to April 3, there will be free drop-in arts and crafts sessions. Children can also pick up an Explorer's Passport to collect stamps while exploring the attraction, which features a Stick Man Outdoor Trail and outdoor play areas.

Kings Heath Artisan Market

To round off the holidays, the Kings Heath Artisan Market will take place on Sunday, April 12, in York Road. Visitors can browse stalls from local artisans selling a variety of items, including homeware, jewellery, street food, and produce.
