Leicester's Cultural Quarter Earlies Festival Returns with Exciting Free Activities

Leicester's beloved monthly free family festival, Cultural Quarter Earlies, is set to make a vibrant return. On Saturday, April 11, from noon to 4pm, the event will unfold across multiple venues in the city's Cultural Quarter, offering a plethora of creative and engaging activities for children and their families.

Movie Making Adventure at LCB Depot

At the LCB Depot, participants can dive into the world of filmmaking. This session will guide attendees through the entire process, from scripting and set design to acting and special effects. The experience culminates with a screening of the creations on a big screen, providing a thrilling conclusion to the creative journey.

Storytelling and Crafts Across Venues

Other venues will host a variety of free workshops. At Curve, Jennifer Bradbury will lead a Springtime Storytelling adventure, focusing on themes like growing seeds, blooming flowers, and secret wishes coming to life. Leicester Print Workshop invites children aged four and up to create their own Kamihanga bunny or chick prints. Phoenix, in collaboration with @kalaartscic, offers a chance to craft model movie props from recycled materials. Two Queens will feature fun paper marbling sessions, suitable for ages three and up, with no booking required. Additionally, Central Library will host the Leicester Seed Library for one day, allowing visitors to pick up seeds and enjoy spring-themed egg box crafts.

While activities are free and open to all, organizers encourage booking free tickets to help manage numbers. Visitors can also sign up for the mailing list to stay updated on future events.
