The family of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne gathered at a celebrated Birmingham curry house to mark what would have been his 77th birthday, following a poignant civic ceremony in his honour.

A Heartfelt Celebration at a City Landmark

On Wednesday evening, 3 December 2025, Sharon Osbourne, daughter Kelly, her fiancé Sid Wilson, and Ozzy's children Louis and Louise Osbourne, dined at the award-winning Asha's restaurant on Edmund Street. The intimate family meal served as a birthday tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman, who was born in Aston.

The visit came after the family attended Birmingham Council House to accept a posthumous Lord Mayor's Award for Ozzy, one of the city's highest civic honours. During the private ceremony, they were presented with Books of Condolence filled with personal messages and tributes from fans across the globe.

A Personal Letter and a Lasting Legacy

Kelly Osbourne shared insights from the day on her social media, including a heartfelt letter her father had sent to Lord Mayor Councillor Zafar Iqbal on 1 July 2025. Written from his base at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, Ozzy expressed his gratitude and personal connection to the city and its mayor.

In the letter, Ozzy wrote of his lasting memories and thanked the Lord Mayor for his welcome. He also revealed a personal bond, mentioning shared childhood experiences with learning difficulties and anxiety, stating, "I can definitely relate to you."

An Honour for Asha's and a City's Tribute

Nouman Farooqui, Director of Asha's, expressed his pride at hosting the famous family. "It was a heartfelt privilege to host the Osbournes," he said. "Ozzy Osbourne’s enduring spirit and legacy will shine in our city for generations to come. It was touching to celebrate together, especially knowing his love of a great curry."

The family's visit to Birmingham also included a trip to Villa Park on 2 December, further connecting them to Ozzy's hometown roots. The event underscores the deep and lasting affection between the global rock icon and the city of Birmingham, which continues to celebrate his life and immense contribution to music.
