Man Celebrates Christmas Every Day for Over 30 Years, Has No Plans to Stop
Man Celebrates Christmas Daily for 30 Years

A man who has celebrated Christmas every single day for more than three decades says he has no intention of stopping, insisting the festive lifestyle is far more enjoyable than his day job. Andy Park, 63, from Melksham, Wiltshire, has marked every day as Christmas Day since 1993, earning himself the nickname 'Mr Christmas'. His unusual routine includes opening presents, cooking a full turkey dinner, watching festive films, and even replaying the monarch's Christmas speeches.

A Daily Festive Routine

An electrician by profession, Andy estimates he has consumed more than 14,000 turkeys over the years, along with thousands of mince pies, bottles of champagne, and sherry. Speaking about his lifestyle, he said: “Everything you do on Christmas Day, I do every day.” Andy's home is decorated year-round with Christmas trees, tinsel, and fairy lights, creating a permanent festive setting regardless of the season. Even during the height of summer, he prepares a full roast dinner complete with all the trimmings, often accompanied by champagne and Christmas cake.

His daily routine begins at around 8am, when he unwraps presents he bought for himself the day before. These can range from small novelty items to larger purchases, including a Fender Stratocaster guitar and even a car. After opening cards—which he now delivers to himself due to rising postage costs—he enjoys mince pies and a glass of sherry before heading to his part-time job as an electrician. By late morning, preparations begin for his Christmas lunch. The meal typically includes roast turkey, potatoes, sprouts, carrots, stuffing, and sometimes pigs in blankets. If he is hosting guests, he says he goes the extra mile to make the day feel even more special.

Festive Films and Royal Messages

At around 3pm, Andy pauses to watch the monarch's Christmas message, including past speeches by Queen Elizabeth II. “Every time I watch it, it seems to get better,” he said, adding that he still toasts the Queen during the national anthem. Evenings are spent shopping for the next day's presents before settling down with a festive film. Among his favourites are It's a Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause starring Tim Allen, and Mrs Doubtfire starring Robin Williams.

Health Adjustments and Family Support

Despite the indulgent lifestyle, Andy says he has had to make adjustments for his health. After his weight increased significantly in the early years, he cut back on portion sizes following his doctor's advice. He now maintains a more balanced routine alongside regular walking and cycling. Andy, who is single, has a daughter, three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, and says his family enjoy visiting and taking part in his daily celebrations. He insists the lifestyle has made him happier and more relaxed.

Well-known locally for his festive dedication, Andy even receives up to 100 fresh, custom-made mince pies delivered to his door every single week from a local baker. He once attempted to stop his daily celebrations at his daughter Caz's request, but admitted the effort lasted just two days before he reinstated the decorations. “I came home and it looked so bare and boring,” he said. “I'm used to the lights and the tinsel—everything's twinkly.”

Future Plans and Festive Ambitions

Andy has no plans to pack up his baubles anytime soon. Looking to the future, he hopes to score a cameo on Coronation Street, host This Morning's Alison Hammond for a roast dinner, and record a festive chart-topper alongside Robbie Williams. “It's great for me, makes me feel good,” he said. “I'm not hurting anybody. My grandchildren love it. I never want it to stop.”
