Edge Hill University has received an impressive eight shortlistings for the Student Nursing Times Awards, often referred to as the 'Oscars' of the UK's nursing community. This recognition highlights the university's excellence in nursing and midwifery education.

The University's School of Nursing and Midwifery has been shortlisted across multiple prestigious categories. These include 'best student experience', 'teaching innovation of the year', 'partnership of the year', and 'nurse education provider of the year (pre-registration)'. - Nurse education provider of the year (pre-registration): Recognised for nurturing the whole person and inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
- Student nursing associate of the year: Jonathan Richardson from Edge Hill University and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
- Best student experience: The Nursing and Midwifery Student Voice strategy uses creative methods like poetry and QR Code evaluations to foster a culture of belonging.
- Student placement of the year - community: For integrating social care placements into the nursing curriculum.
- Teaching innovation of the year - curriculum: An initiative empowering student nurses to raise concerns in practice with confidence.
- Partnership of the year: Three nominations for collaborations with Sefton Training Hub, Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, and Cheshire and Mersey Training Hub & Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on innovative education models.

The winners will be announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, London, on April 24, 2026. Edge Hill University's Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine is one of the largest providers of health, social care, and medicine education in the North West of England, also housing its Medical School.
