The Met Office has delivered unwelcome news to Brummies, forecasting possible "thundery showers" during the bank holiday weekend, despite predictions of sweltering temperatures. Sunday is expected to be a scorcher, reaching 27C.

The final verdict on bank holiday Monday is yet to be confirmed, but a clearer picture for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is emerging. In their outlook from Friday to Sunday, the Met Office states: "Very warm over the Bank Holiday weekend with plenty of sunshine and light winds. However, some heavy, thundery showers are possible on Saturday."
Friday
Friday is forecast to reach 26C in the afternoon, with temperatures staying at least 23C until 8pm before the sun sets and the heat subsides.
Saturday
Saturday will be marginally cooler but still golden, with highs of 26C. The evening will be slightly warmer, with 24C expected until around 7pm.
Sunday
Sunday is set to be the hottest day of the weekend, with average temperatures reaching a scorching 27C. It will remain at 25C until 6pm, before gradually cooling to 23C between 7pm and 8pm.
Monday
At the moment, Monday looks similar with 26C forecast, but details are yet to be finalised.
