British Gas Launches Exclusive WSL Tariff, Beats Price Cap
British Gas launches exclusive WSL energy tariff

British Gas has launched an exclusive new energy deal aimed directly at the women's football community. The one-year fixed tariff is the result of the company's official partnership with the Barclays Women's Super League (WSL) and WSL 2.

An Exclusive Deal for the Women's Football Community

This special offer is only available to members, fans, players, and supporters of the women's football leagues. To access the tariff, eligible customers must sign up through official WSL Football channels, such as their email subscriptions or social media platforms.

The central promise of the deal is a significant financial benefit. The fixed rate is guaranteed to be cheaper than the upcoming January Price Cap, offering certainty and savings during a period of volatile energy costs.

Extending Partnership Value Beyond the Pitch

James Corcoran, Partnerships Director at British Gas, stated the launch reflects the company's commitment to "energising women's football." He emphasised that the move is about supporting communities and rewarding their customer base with tangible benefits.

Zarah Al-Kudcy, CRO of WSL Football, highlighted the "real-term impact" of the offer. She noted that it extends the partnership's value far beyond promotional activities, directly helping the community save money on essential bills.

This initiative builds on previous rewards from the partnership, which have included thousands of free tickets and matchday experiences for Barclays WSL and WSL 2 games. A separate, existing scheme called "PeakSave" also offers fans half-price electricity when watching matches on Sundays.

A New Benchmark for Sports Sponsorship

The launch is seen as a pioneering step in how utility companies leverage sports partnerships. British Gas is positioned as the first energy provider to create a dedicated energy product from such a sponsorship, taking the concept to a new level.

WSL Football believes the tariff will help its community save money while continuing to champion the sport. This ensures the partnership is mutually beneficial, providing direct financial support to fans while deepening the league's relationship with its official energy partner.
