Survey: A Third of Brits Find Takeaway More Satisfying Than a Date
Brits Prefer Takeaways Over Dates, Survey Finds

Survey Reveals Brits' Preference for Takeaways Over Dating

A recent study has uncovered that a significant portion of British adults find more satisfaction in a takeaway meal than in a romantic date. The survey, which polled 2,000 individuals across the UK, indicates shifting attitudes towards leisure and social activities.

Key Findings from the Poll

The research shows that nearly one in five Brits, or 18%, feel their romantic lives often fall short of expectations. More strikingly, over a third, specifically 34%, stated that ordering a takeaway provides greater satisfaction compared to going on a date. This sentiment is further emphasized by the fact that 45% of respondents would opt for a weekday takeaway at home instead of spending time on a date or with friends.

Among those currently dating, 34% admitted they are more inclined to use a takeaway app than a dating app, highlighting a trend towards convenience and comfort in modern lifestyles. Pizza emerged as a favourite, with 51% of Brits selecting it as one of their top takeaway choices.

Pizza Hut's Playful Campaign

In response to these findings, Pizza Hut has launched a bold and humorous campaign titled "I Do" to Free Pizza, which encourages people to commit to their loyalty programme, Hut Rewards. The campaign, introduced on April 1st, uses the chain's Chief Legal Officer as its spokesperson, adding a unique twist to the promotion.

Jana Ulaite, Chief Marketing Officer of Pizza Hut UK, commented, "At Pizza Hut, we aimed to develop a loyalty programme that consistently delivers and celebrates every moment. It's the kind of commitment the nation desires, offering reliability without disappointment—just excellent pizza and rewarding experiences."

How to Participate in Hut Rewards

To join the Hut Rewards programme, users can download the Pizza Hut UK app and access the Rewards section or visit the official website to sign up. New and existing customers who register before April 19th will receive a complimentary small pizza as an introductory offer. The programme operates on a stamp system:

  • Stamp 1: Free garlic bread
  • Stamp 4: Medium pizza
  • Stamp 6: Large pizza
  • Stamp 9: XXL Big New Yorker Pizza

This initiative appears particularly appealing, as the survey also found that 64% of pizza enthusiasts report their favourite takeaway pizza meets expectations most of the time. Terms and conditions, including a minimum spend requirement, apply to the offers.
