Percy the Piglet Struts into Bleakholt Sanctuary as New Star Attraction
Percy Piglet Becomes Bleakholt Sanctuary's Star

Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Edenfield has welcomed a delightful new resident who is rapidly becoming the centre of attention. Percy, a 19-week-old black and white Juliana cross piglet, didn't merely arrive at the sanctuary – he made a grand entrance, strutting in and promptly taking over the place with his charming antics.

A Piglet with Personality

Farm manager Peter Hesketh shared the story of Percy's arrival, noting that the piglet came to the sanctuary in mid-December from a domestic home. "He was too boisterous for home life," Hesketh explained, "so we have welcomed him into the sanctuary. He actually came with a wardrobe of clothes and likes to be taken for a walk on his harness."

Settling In and Winning Hearts

Percy has adapted remarkably well to his new surroundings, endearing himself to both staff and visitors. "He has settled in brilliantly and has fast become a favourite," Hesketh confirmed. The sanctuary has recently had Percy neutered, and once he has fully recovered, they plan to introduce him to the other pigs at Bleakholt.

Sponsorship Opportunity

For those who wish to support Percy and the sanctuary's work, he will soon be available for sponsorship at £30 for the year. This initiative helps fund the care and maintenance of the animals at Bleakholt, ensuring they receive the best possible attention.

Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, located in Ramsbottom, continues to provide a safe haven for animals in need, with Percy's arrival adding a new layer of joy and community engagement to their mission.
